Hey there! I’m Emily- momma of 4 kiddos, 6th grade ELA teacher , gardener, creator and child of God.
My kiddos are Weston- (19), Wyatt- (17), Lilly Jo (14), and Ellie (10). They are my most favorite people and I enjoy every moment I get to be in their presence. I love to garden, listen to music, read, & snuggle farm cats and dogs. I love early mornings being outside, coffee, pumpkins, fishing, baseball, music, reading, growing plants & anything creative. I deeply deeply rely on Jesus and his unyielding grace and strength to carry me through every day. Life is hard, but I try to let God’s light shine through the cracks this life has created.
2020 has taught me that we are meant to be tougher than we are. I started asking the question, “If I was cut off from the leisures of this life, what do I need to survive?” I’ve always been a do it yourself kinda gal, canning jellies, home improvements and growing my own produce. There is something so, so rewarding in working hard on something you love. We are a few generations removed from knowing how to make our own soap, milk a cow, or make candles. I’m curious about getting back to those skills. What I’ve found is that it really isn’t as complicated as we think, but requires hard work and most of all…time. I started my journey into making my own products by rendering lard from a pig into soap in my home kitchen. Since that first batch of soap I have learned to make lotions, beard balms, healing skin salves, chap stick, bath bombs, deodorant, face moisturizers, and laundry soap! I use essential oils and herbs I grow at home to help me provide enjoyable smells to my products without compromising health. The most exciting part is sharing these products with others knowing that EVERY ingredient I use is good for you, and has a story.
God bless ,
Em
